Bison and Lions play to 1-1 tie in double overtime

Gallaudet women's soccer goalie Payton DeGraw makes a diving save in a night game.

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - The Gallaudet University women's soccer team scored in the opening 33 seconds here Saturday to surprise Penn State Harrisburg and take an early 1-0 lead. A lead that lasted until the 78th minute when the Lions knotted the game up and forced overtime. The two teams battled through two overtime periods before the game ended in a 1-1 tie at Nittany Soccer Field.

Gallaudet (2-5-1, 0-3-1 NEAC) got on the scoreboard when sophomore Hannah Neild (Litchfield, N.H.) sent in a cross to freshman Courtney Gentzke (Honeoye, N.Y.) who knocked in the ball into the goal. That is Gentzke's fourth goal of the season.

The Bison went back on defense for the remainder of the game against Penn State Harrisburg (5-4-1, 3-0-1 NEAC) as GU shots were few and far between.
