AURORA, N.Y. - The Gallaudet University women's soccer team split its New York weekend road trip with a 3-1 victory over Wells College here Sunday afternoon. GU had three different goal scorers net a second-half goal to propel the Bison to victory for the first time in over a month.
Gallaudet (3-8-1, 1-5-1 NEAC) and Wells (0-10, 0-7 NEAC) were scoreless after one half. Bison starting goalie Payton DeGraw (Salt Lake City, Utah) made six saves in the first half before moving to the field in the second half. DeGraw's counterpart was Well's goalie Jennifer McCumber, who made five of her seven saves in the first half. GU senior goalie Silvya Levesque (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) took over in the second half for the Bison and made two saves.
DeGraw got Gallaudet on the scoreboard in the 56th minute with the game's first goal, her third this year. Junior midfielder Sabrina Hernandez (Ashland, Va.) scored her first goal of the season at the 63:26 mark to give the Bison a 2-0 advantage. Four minutes later, sophomore midfielder Hannah Neild (Litchfield, N.H.) added to her team-leading goal total with her 10th goal of the season.
GU carried its three-goal lead into the contest before Wells scored at the 81:57 mark to break up the shutout.

- Both teams took four corner kicks
- Wells held a slight edge in shots, 17-16
- GU's last victory was on Sept. 8 when it defeated Yeshiva, 8-0
Gallaudet returns home to host SUNY Poly (5-6-1, 4-3 NEAC) on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 3:15 p.m. The game is slated to be played on Hoy Field.
