Bison drop first road contest of the season to Bridgewater (Va.)

BRIDGEWATER, Va. - Gallaudet University ventured down to Bridgewater (Va.) College during Fall Break and lost 80-28 to the host Eagles here Tuesday night in a non-conference women's basketball game.

Gallaudet (0-2) and Bridgewater (2-3) kept things close during the first quarter where the Eagles led 10-7 halfway the opening 10-minute frame. It was all Bridgewater from here on out. The Eagles went on a 24-6 run to take a 34-13 lead at the half. Gallaudet was held to four points scored in the second and fourth quarters.

Sophomore forward Cassidy Perry (Frederick, Md.) led the Bison with 10 points, six rebounds and two steals while freshman guard Crystal Salit (Boyds, Md.) added eight points.

Bridgewater scored 34 points off the 38 turnovers made by Gallaudet. Three different Eagles scored 12 or more points, BC was led by Erika Nettles' 15-point game.
